Description
With the right online training, anyone can learn to use Power BI. But if you want to Supercharge Power BI, you really need to learn the DAX (Data Analysis eXpressions) language. This high quality online Power BI course will teach you how to get the most from this powerful tool. You will learn data modeling with DAX, and is perfect for those who prefer the structure of guided, instructor-led learning vs. reading a book on their own.
This online training course is a combination of:
- Self-paced remote learning using one of Matt Allington’s books, Supercharge Power BI or Supercharge Excel and associated exercises (3 hours per week for 7 weeks = 21 hours)
- Video based training with examples and demos to support the complex topics in the book (1 hour per lesson for 5 lessons = 5 hours)
- Weekly online live Q&A sessions with Matt Allington (1 hour per session for 5 sessions = 5 hours) – see the Schedule for Online Live Q&A Sessions section below for details
Total hours: 21 hours reading + 5 hours video + 5 hours live Q&A = 31 hours

It depends. The kick-off session (week 0) is the official start of the semester. Typically you can join the current semester (for the first time) anytime prior to the week 2 Q&A. There is an extra study week during weeks 3&4 which will allow you to catch up. After that, it will be difficult and we recommend that you wait for the next semester.
Yes, you are free to join at any time. You can start the reading and watching the weekly review videos online. Then when the new semester starts, you can then join the live Q&A sessions and you will be ahead of the game.
